LOOKS: A stunning piece - in a low lit room it seems almost black/navy blue with hints of different colors teasingly jumping out as you move the gaiwan. In bright fluorescent light (seen in my pic) the colors become vibrant, and in sunlight it's a rainbow light show! Even my pics failed to capture all the potential colors that reflect. FEEL: A substantially solid piece, hefty but not heavy like stoneware. Comfortable to hold and maneuver. Note: the lid's underneath edges are sealed but un-glazed. BREWING: Retains heat very well. This clay ware brightens and sweetens my puehrs to the extend that some of my ripes shifted from heavy/earthy to lighter/fruitier. A very nice piece!
